Matt joined B&K 13 years ago and heads the group today. Matt’s foundation in the industry includes a mechanical engineering degree and MBA from UW, and work at Precision Castparts in Ohio and West Virginia, where he supported the aerospace and oil and gas industries. Matt enjoys harnessing new technologies for B&K customers while staying true to the company’s 40-year tradition of reliability. His passion is not just selling and servicing the best equipment, but delivering as a trusted, strategic partner with each client. When Matt is not driving change at work, he’s driving his wife and three kids around in their 1976 VW Westphalia camper.
Nick has been at B&K since 2008 and has progressed through a number of roles in the Sales Group. He made the shift to lead the Operations Group in 2021. His background includes civil engineering degrees from UW (BSCE) and Stanford (MSCE). He began his career in the structural engineering world working at Degenkolb Engineers. Nick’s focus is making systems and processes run more efficiently, so that all requests from customers keep flowing to a solution. Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, playing golf and skiing.
Steve has overseen service operations for all four sites since 2022, and he’s excited with his mission: constantly improving how we get things done. Steve says the secret to success is having a vision, and having a company dedicated to doing things right. Steve bikes, plays saxophone and clarinet, and is especially fond of orchestras.
James has been part of the Beckwith & Kuffel family for over a quarter of a century. After serving 12 years in the US Army he joined B&K as an expediter and came up through the ranks in parts sales, then applications, and has been a territory manager since 2009. James enjoys the challenge of providing innovative solutions to customers’ needs. He also leads our BKR Reliability training program, which teaches customers how to maintain their own equipment and extend the life of their investment. In his new role, James looks forward to building strong relationships with clients and partners, tackling new challenges, and contributing to the growth of Beckwith & Kuffel. When he’s not solving customers’ problems, James likes to build computers and spend time with his wife and son.
Dakota joined us looking to help people find solutions to complex problems. Municipalities count on Dakota to help them steer through the many specific requirements of government-funded projects. He is most often praised for his unsinkable spirit. Dakota also like a challenge outdoors, downhill mountain biking and multi-pitch climbing. He was a sponsored skateboarder until 18.
